ImageTextFinder Support & FAQ

Check these steps when the finder, site access, image OCR, or copying does not work as expected. If the issue remains, copy the inquiry template below and send it by email.

Check these items first

Ctrl+F opens Chrome Find

Check site access and the Ctrl+F replacement setting. Reload a page that was already open when access changed. Chrome Find is the intended fallback without permission or on unsupported pages.

Image results do not appear

Confirm the image has loaded and the required OCR language group is selected. A restricted source host may require additional site access.

Direct image-text selection is unavailable

Direct selection appears only when word coordinates and confidence are safe. Check whether full-image OCR text copying remains available.

Copying fails

Use the manual copy panel if clipboard access is blocked. Avoid pasting private page content into a support email.

Supported content and limits

Core support covers visible HTML text and supported images on regular top-level HTTP and HTTPS pages. Chrome pages, the Chrome Web Store, built-in PDF Viewer, closed shadow roots, inaccessible cross-origin frames, Canvas, video, WebGL, DRM, and Blob/Data URL discovery are unsupported or not guaranteed.

OCR accuracy varies with resolution, contrast, font, rotation, layout, and language. Handwriting, equations, complex tables, vertical text, and heavy distortion are not guaranteed. Version 1 does not support incognito mode.

Frequently asked questions

Are images or search terms sent to an external server?

No. OCR runs inside the extension. Image content, search terms, OCR results, and copied text are not sent to an external OCR, AI, analytics, advertising, or developer server.

Which languages can it recognize?

Choose from 11 packaged recognition groups covering 106 printed languages. English and Korean are enabled by default. OCR recognizes text; it does not translate it.

Can I search before OCR finishes?

Yes. HTML matches and completed image matches remain usable while later images continue processing.

Can I delete the local OCR cache?

Yes. Extension Settings can clear only OCR records or delete all extension-owned local data. Site permissions must be revoked separately.

Does it contain ads or analytics?

No. Version 1 contains no ad SDK, ad UI, ad-network request, user analytics, or remote configuration.
